It reminds me of the Chinook winds that sweep through Alberta.

A little delayed by a few months of travel, but I appreciate your comments and interest! Your comment definitely fits the mood of this piece, as I know very well what these chinook winds are like. They're never as warm in Manitoba, but this piece is somewhat of a fantasy meld of Canada's West Coast and S. Pacific islands. Cheers! ...and thank you!

I really like this piece. The colors are beautiful and the strokes of them remind me vaguely of a mosaic.

Thanks a lot!! I guess I was after a thick impressionistic style, and the acrylics seemed to do the trick, though I'm a bigger fan of oils. Great photos, I must say, though I'd love to see more!

I can see the impressionistic style shining through. Acrylics are pretty good for that. I'm used to them, but I'm just getting into oils now. I get a little frustrated with the drying time, but after I see how vibrantly the colors blend together in the end, I feel it's a decent trade off. :}

And thank you as well! I'm hoping to update twice a week, if I can get my work together in time haha. :hug:

Yeah, I love oils. Partly to do with the drying time, but the flexibility and character of the medium is so much more...hmm, fun? Right now I've really been getting back into Gouache. Its been a lot of fun.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I've never tried Gouache. Sounds like it would be fun though.

And thank you! Likewise. :}
